A foundation built around international law
VÉRTICE was created to sustain technical, independent analysis of Colombia’s international obligations and of the foreign policy that carries them.
Vértice - Foreign Policy, Human Rights and Peace is a non-profit entity created in July 2026, working for the protection of and respect for the international obligations acquired by Colombia and for its constitutional block. We therefore monitor and act on foreign policy and international relations decisions that may disregard the international human rights and peace commitments to which Colombia is party — including membership of international bodies, observance of the decisions issuing from them, and any attempt to roll back gains achieved principally in human rights and peacebuilding, which particularly affect the most vulnerable populations.
We act to ensure that our legal order continues to rest on the principles that sustain international relations: the sovereignty and free self-determination of peoples, peaceful coexistence, recognition of the dignity and worth of the human person, equality of rights and the collective pursuit of international peace and security — on the understanding that, as our Constitution establishes, international law and relations of solidarity between countries are fundamental on the path towards consolidating democratic societies at peace.
Our work will focus on three key strategies: pedagogy, advocacy action and research. We seek to generate knowledge and contribute to public debate from expert command of international matters, from the perspective of human rights and peace.
